Professionals in pension plan design and administration

Pension Plan Professionals, Inc. is a

CEFEX Certified technical service firm composed of seven staff members who are trained and experienced in the design, establishment, and administration of retirement plans qualified under Internal Revenue Code section 401(a). This core staff is supplemented by independent actuaries, a Practice Manager, Director of Operations, IT Manager, Case Managers and clerical assistants.

Seven of the technical staff each have over 20 years of direct experience in the pension profession.

Dale F. Smith, QPA, ERPA who co-founded the Firm in 1986 with his spouse, owns 100% of the Firm.

All work is performed on networked personal computers. The network is protected by an industry-standard firewall and a corporate-version 24x7 virus preventive software. All files are backed-up redundantly. In addition, these files are backed-up and maintained off site in other states. There is no internal connection to or dependence on any mainframe computer.

While the Firm has earned a strong reputation in the Southeast as a leader in the administration of 401(k) plans, a complete range of consulting and plan administration services is maintained for all types of qualified 401(a) retirement plans: defined benefit, profit sharing, money purchase pension, target benefit, and employee stock ownership. State-of-the-art techniques are utilized, to include new-comparability allocation methods and safe-harbor 401(k) provisions.

The Firm's valuation reports are considered by many to be among the best in the

profession, and unless geographic distances prohibit, valuation reports are personally

presented to the plan sponsor.

Personalized services are one of four defining features of the Firm's service structure

which are set forth in its goals and objectives.

In the latter regard, for instance, voice-answering systems are minimized during working hours. Clients are encouraged to call their Case Manager with questions, rather than

contend with the alternative of correcting a mistake.
